Our first Market was held in 1988. We only utilized the ballroom half of the Civic Center, but it was a
rousing success. The market has grown and expanded through the years, but has maintained the special
traditions of Christmas handed down from our German ancestors, while staying true to the market
mission of benefitting the Sophienburg Museum & Archives.

Weihnachtsmarkt is held in the New Braunfels Civic and Convention Center located in Downtown New Braunfels, with entrances on both Castell Avenue and Segun Avenue. The New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center is located in Historic Downtown with ample on and off-street parking available for customers at no charge.
Arriving from San Antonio:
Head North on IH 35, Exit 187 onto Seguin Ave, Civic/
Convention Center will be on your left after 1 mile.
Arriving from Austin:
Head South on IH 35, Exit 187 onto Seguin Ave, Civic/
Convention Center will be your left after 1 mile.
Handicapped parking is available for vehicles with Handicap
(ADA) parking stickers close to the Seguin Avenue entrance.

Sponsorships and Gala tickets may be purchased here.
Gala tickets are valid on Thursday Night and re-entry on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the designated ticket holder only.
Our General Admission tickets are only available at the door the day of market.
Food will be available for purchase at from indoor vendors. Expect a variety such as salads, soups, and sandwiches. Beverages will be available Beverages will be a wide variety from water, soft drinks, as well as beer, wine, and cocktails. We will have seating areas to rest, eat, and recharge.
Yes, strollers and children are welcome.
Children under 12 are free.
We are not able to offer childcare.
Handicapped parking is available at no charge for vehicles with Handicap (ADA) parking stickers. Entry to the building, aisles between the booths, and bathrooms are all wheelchair accessible.
Weihnachtsmarkt (Vy-noks-markt) is the largest fundraiser for the Sophienburg Museum & Archives, furthering our mission of Creating Connections and Enriching Lives through the Power of History. All proceeds go to support museum operations and educational programming.
